Snapping Hip Syndrome
What?
This is characterized by “snapping” centralized over the side of front of hip especially when bringing hip forward and back. Most common in athletes that run, jump. cross-step, or dance repetitively. It may not be painful but is usually audible.
What else?
Pain in the back of hip or deep in hip that is “burning”, “numb”, or “tingling”, may be piriformis syndrome or a more severe low back spine impingement or disk damage. X-rays may rule out structural impingement or lesions causing symptoms.
How?
In relationship with lower crossed syndrome, poor posture or prolonged inactivity can create stiffness in hips. Specifically, tight flexor muscles in front of hip and weak butt muscles.
Where to start?
Start with correcting any daily habits that keep your hips stationary for longs periods of time.
Try these three.
